JOSEPH TRITT – MUSIC DIRECTOR

RESUME

BIO:

Joseph Tritt (he/him) is a queer Winnipeg-based multidisciplinary theatre musician.

As a music director, Joseph has worked extensively in Manitoba (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Rainbow Stage, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Dry Cold Productions, Winnipeg Studio Theatre) and Ontario (The Grand Theatre, Theatre Aquarius, Drayton Entertainment, Ross Petty Productions). As a composer, Joseph has contributed incidental music to plays at the Shaw Festival and was a participant in The Musical Stage Company’s Noteworthy program. As an educator, Joseph has been a contract faculty member in the Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College, as well as a masterclass clinician and adjudicator in various settings. 

Joseph is a graduate of the Shaw Festival’s music direction internship program, under the supervision of Maestro Paul Sportelli, and he holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba’s Desautels Faculty of Music. 

When he’s not at the piano or on the podium, Joseph is working toward obtaining his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. He hopes to use this training to support members of the performing arts community and build greater awareness around mental health in the arts.
